The Solstice title for the summer event is Flamekeeper and comes packaged similarly to the last two entries, with an event card, special tasks to do, and engaging with the event’s activity, Bonfire B
Few maps are as iconic in terms of its middle arena as Altar of Flame. In 6v6 it’s a pretty nice, linear map where the lines between the two teams are easy to identify, with three different push points available depending on how close or long-range players want to
As an example, consider Destiny 2 ’s recent Season of Dawn . Fresh off the laurels of Season of Undying , Guardians had just slain an epic time-jumping Vex Mind known creatively as “The Undying Mind.” However, this creature’s death caused ripples in the fabric of time, ripples that allowed the mysterious Osiris to activate a powerful machine called the Sundial. With it, Guardians were able to travel through the Corridors of Time which gave them the ability to not only meet but save their long lost hero Saint-XIV. Saving Saint eventually led to the creation of the Lighthouse, which was the basis of the long-awaited return of Trials of Osiris a season later in Season of the Wort
In addition to the new dungeon, Bungie also upped the rewards on their punishingly difficult Grandmaster Nightfall Ordeals. Players who get to the end of these mega-challenge missions in Destiny 2 are guaranteed to earn Ascendant Shards, the most coveted currency in the game. Bungie has shown that they want to encourage players to challenge themselves and are finally handing out the loot to justify the eff
Titles are unique words in Destiny 2 that appear under a player’s name. These titles are earned after completing a series of triumphs that are either time-consuming or Swordplay Tips incredibly difficult for the average pla
At the time of writing, Cirrus Plaza has been in the game for roughly a week, which means that it’s too early to make a hyper-informative judgment on it. What is clear is that this bright, colorful, arcade and mall-themed Neomuna map looks incredible. It’s also a nice respite from bigger maps like Disjunction that favor extremely long-range gameplay and might not be everyone’s cup of
Yes, despite all the worldwide controversy surrounding loot boxes, Destiny 2 still uses them. Called Bright Engrams, these boxes are purchased from the Eververse store. They spill out a random selection of items that players have no control over. There are also Nostalgic Engrams that contain cosmetic items from Year 2. If you really want to spend real-world money on microtransactions, it’s best to directly purchase what you want from Eververse.
Trials of Osiris has returned to Destiny 2 this season, albeit with some mixed reviews, but none the less rewards players with triumphs and the Flawless seal for a variety of completions. Going flawless awards players with Trials specific weapons as well, so players should win frequently in order to add them to their arsenals. While most of these triumphs for the Flawless and Conqueror seals are labeled “available only during the season of the worthy”, these seals will not disappear and might merely require different Triumphs to complete them in further seasons ah
While this approach to franchise expansion is a novel move for Halo and its developers at 343 Industries, it is not new for the industry. In fact, Bungie, the original creators of Halo, have moved towards this platform expansion model for Destiny 2 . In June, Bungie announced that Destiny 2 , already finishing up its third year since launch, still had at least three more years of new expansions on the
“Our plan is to use these new items to bolster the service provided by our live team for another full year, as they grow and create more robust and engaging events that we’ll announce later this year. It has been, and continues to be, our goal to deliver updates to the game. Going forward, our live team is also looking to grow beyond vital updates and improvements to focus on world events, experiences, and feature requests.”
Over the past two years, Bungie has done good work slowly removing some of the more disturbing aspects from the Eververse store. Gameplay-focused items like armor, sparrows and Ghost shells have been moved out of the store and are, like in Destiny, offered as in-game rewards. At this point in time, the Eververse store purely sells cosmetic items, including weapon ornaments, emotes and finishers.
The current Year 3 of Destiny 2 content has shown something very specific about player behavior: players love repeating content that is both challenging and rewarding. The current Season of Arrivals has done an excellent job of providing this through multiple avenues. Within hours of the release of the new season, a surprise dungeon activity, Prophecy , was activated for all players to enjoy. Prophecy is a very high-level mission balanced for three Guardians, but can be done solo with the right skill. What makes Prophecy so unique is that every encounter provides loot no matter how many times players run the dungeon in a given week. Historically, players have only been rewarded for their first clear of the mission once per week per character. Now players can farm endgame content for the best rolls on some of the best loot in the g
