Majuli is a mysterious paradise of flora and fauna. Majuli boast of number of wetland to which migratory birds flock in large numbers. In fact, isolation from the main land has helped in the protection and preservation of some of the rare specious of flora and fauna. Majuli includes mainly four types of flora – Phytoplankton, herbs, shrubs and trees. More than 186 species of birds including the endangered storks and innumerable migratory birds visit Majuli during winter. This is perhaps why Majuli has been declared as one of the Important Bird Area (IBA) of India. At one there were of least ten different varieties of tartlets in Majuli must of which have almost vanished now. Majuli has more than 150 wetlands or beels, more than 20 mammals, nearly 10 amphibians and more than a hundred verities of local fish, including 65 verities of ornamental fish sufficient rains and humidity endow Majuli with evergreen and deciduous forest. Prominent birds searching sites of Majuli are – Sakuli bheel, Borhula Pathar , Doriya Dubi , Bhereki Bheel , Dowkpara , Borbilla , Duboritoli , Rambolia etc. biodiversity of Majuli and fantastic composition of Majuli provides an extra image of Majuli for the tourists.
